I don’t know if I’ll see him again, so I wished him well

The action started early on Sunday morning, with a visit to the hospital to validate some labour concerns. After some tracing, we were shown that there were tiny contractions (much to our surprise as Nadine wasn’t feeling anything), and were then asked to come back later that day.  We returned and resumed with the trace.  After some assessment, it was advised that Nadine be admitted and that the induction process would be started.

To cut a long story short, Nadine was ready to deliver at 6am this morning, and by 08:03, Little Luke Joshua was born. I can’t express how proud I am of Nadine…she’s too awesome for words. My mother in-law, Rose provided that extra moral support we needed..THANK YOU!

December is traditionally an extremely busy time in the Cape Town wedding industry, and this year is no different.  Despite the hectic schedules of local wedding photographers, Stefan and Nikki Steenkamp and Andre van Niekerk from Zara-Zoo, hosted a BBQ for the local wedding photographers.

I also had a chance to chat with Nikki about the very successful, Little Pink Book (due to be launched in Gauteng this week)…watch this space.

It was great to meet up with everyone again and meet their respective family members.  I sure hope that we continue to have these get togethers.

Greg and I actually go way back; we were in the same class at college, played basketball together before I moved to Cape Town….this was a couple of years before I even met Nadine.

Greg is one of the funniest people I know, his humor is contagious. Nicole is super-sweet and such a joker…this is a match made in heaven! Two awesome people who are pure joy!

The weekend was a great opportunity for family and friends to catch up on news & current affairs.  The wedding was held at Usambara; a short ceremony, followed by a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and then a reception with a surprise.

I had the fortune of coming across this YouTube video last week that reminded me that there is more to life than stressing ’bout work deadlines and living the commercialised dream (my BIC and SIC will know what I’m talking about ).

Anyway, I just wanted to share Matt’s video with you and I hope it leaves you inspired too (Enjoy!):

The weather forecast had us at 18deg C and overcast with rain in the afternoon.  We started our route at 08h00 from the Bo Kaap district and wondered the streets lined with brightly coloured houses.

I broke away from the 50 strong group to roam the inner city streets; Long Street, the Company Gardens an Government Avenue.

It wasn’t long before it started to drizzle and soon the down pour started.

Along my walk of discovery I came across this awesome little restaurant/bistro called Mr Pickwicks on Long Street.  I met the cook, Vince who made me an awesome breakfast while I waited from the rain to stop.

I think this is the biggest photo event ever organised. The Worldwide Photo Walk is an initiative by Photoshop evangelist (and all-round nice guy) Scott Kelby, to gather photographers from all other the world to take a walk around their respective city and photograph the charm and character.  The project is the brain child of Jeff Revell.

The event takes place on Saturday, 23 August 2008.  We’ve registered and are looking forward to meeting other photography enthusiasts.  There are only a few spaces left, so register now (here)….See you on Saturday
